"If you are reading this you're probably considering chartering Constellations. If so, my strong recommendation would be to - GO FOR IT! I sailed on Constellations for four seasons. First and foremost, you need to know that she was always meticulously maintained and with the upgrades SailCT has made each year, she is probably in better shape than when first commissioned. Secondly, the Long Island Sound area offers a wonderful variety of sailing experiences. These include both different sailing conditions such as the relative calm of an anchorage by Duck Island to the sportiness of Plum Gut. There are also numerous interesting ports of call both along the Connecticut coast as well as the North Shore of Long Island, and even Block Island is within a day's sail. For the more adventuresome Newport, the Elizabethan Islands, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are within reach. Lastly, it's fun.
