Charter Requirements
We want you to have a safe and pleasurable charter experience. Only qualified sailors 18 years and older will be permitted to use the boat. For insurance purposes as well as for your safety, you must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:
- Have 5 years sailing experience OR
- ASA 103 course OR
- US Sailing Basic Keel Boat accredited course
Demonstrate fundamental sailing/boat operation skills during the onboard check-in process, including but not limited to:
- Familiarity with the "Rules of the Road"
- Understanding of points of sail
- Ability to read paper charts and understanding of GPS/radar fundamentals.
- Ability to dock and general ability to safely operate the vessel.
- Ability to operate anchor (electric windlass) and anchoring knowledge.
- Familiarity with safety procedures
Other considerations
- The boat can be chartered by a group of 2-5 individuals.
- Children must be over the age of 6 and must be able to wear a Coast Guard approved flotation device.
- You are responsible for ensuring the boat is pumped out when needed. Most marinas offer this service for a nominal fee or free of charge.
- If you wish to stay at marinas, you are responsible for making your own slip or mooring reservations. You may anchor anywhere barring any local restrictions.
- You must follow all Coast Guard rules and regulations while onboard. No exceptions.
- You must follow all guidelines set forth by the charter contract you sign during check-in.
